is there need for a pump.io irc channel?

I have a channel on my network for it (though it's unofficial) irc.megworld.co.uk 6667 (or 9000 for ssl). #pump.io

We have a growing community of both normal users and node admins (about a 1:1 ratio at the moment) and are bullying @evanp into joining presently.

freenode could work, as lots of people already have an account there. even though irc is not exactly decentralized, it doesn't pretend to be, so maybe using a popular server wouldn't hurt much.

maybe irc is too much of a distraction for some people's preferences. "help!!! how do i install this???" :)
