I'm trying to install the pupil labs software to a windows laptop by following the manual for windows dependencies.

The problem that i come up against, is when I'm executing the -> python setup.py build in the (Modify pupil_detectors setup.py) field.

For some reason the program uses as a default version of mscv the 14.0 instead of the 14.1

error: command 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\VC\BIN\x86_amd64\link.exe' failed with exit status 1104

Hi @GeorgiosSopi I think we have been in touch via email - but discussing this via github issues would be more efficient, so I will respond here as well.

Dependency installation on Windows is very tricky. Could you elaborate on the objective/reasons that you need to run from source? I ask because it may be possible to achieve your goal by using the bundle plus API access or plugins.

Hello @willpatera. Not sure if running from source is really necessary. So yesterday i downloaded the bundle for windows and run it.
Everything seems to work fine, however it's necessary to add some third-party plugins.
I followed the instructions by creating a folder pupil_capture_settings etc, but this doesn't seem to work properly. Could you please provide some details and information about adding plugins in order to fix this error?

Hi @GeorgiosSopi
The pupil_capture_settings folder (and its plugins subfolder) should already exist after running Capture for the first time. There should be no need to create them manually. It should be located in your windows-user folder.
