I see a similar issue in pyiron/pyiron#1456 but it seems to be related to mp_api - so pyiron_atomistics rather than pyiron_base.

@pmrv Is this fixed now? It disappeared from the test but I was wondering if it might still be an issue on the CMTI cluster.

Doesn't come up for me anymore. No response from mp_api, so I guess this related to us downgrading setuptools.
