It looks like there are currently some environment troubles which can be caused by the recent updates in geopandas.

Changes proposed in this Pull Request

The PR adds a restriction on geopandas version which seems to resolve the issues.

  • A note for the release notes doc/release_notes.rst is amended in the format of previous release notes, including reference to the requested PR.
