STY: Passing keywords for remote_file_list

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
remote_file_list passes all kwargs to underlying functions even if not set by the user. This results in defaults for supporting instrument code being ignored.

Update remote_file_list to collect assigned keywords at the user level and only pass those.

Leave as is.

Updated standard may need to be employed in other areas.
