This problem cost us several hours of debugging and resulted from an EVM gotcha - a contract call to a non-contract address will simply ignore the call payload and make a plain transfer. Additionally, ETH accounts don't have a notion of initialization - used and unused addresses are equally valid tx recipients. Resulting from both properties, any unused address could potentially yield wrongly successful calls, wasting funds and debug time over p2w-relay. It currently removes the wasm usage and instead uses JS parsing which was available in relayer.
The main reason is that wasm bindings return result as type
anyand within thathex)In order to export the type properly in wasm we need to move away from Pubkey (solana) and Rational (pyth-sdk) structs and use
wasm-bingenfor it which can be achieved after merging changes to the price attestation. So I expect after changes to price attestation we consider moving back to wasm and that should not be hard.Benefits of wasm:
