qBittorrent version and Operating System

qBittorrent 4.2.5, Windows 10 64 Bit

What is the problem

There are two options in the Advanced menu.

  • Display notifications
  • Display notifications for added torrents

Display notifications for added torrents only works when Display notifications is active, which also enables notifications for completed downloads.

What is the expected behavior

There should be finer granularity for which notifications the user wants.

Currently it is not possible to get a notification when a torrent was added, without also getting notifications for completed downloads.

Personally I don't want to be interrupted by notifications when a download is done, but I like getting feedback that the magnet I clicked was actually added. There's always a chance a mouse click didn't register for some reason or was not performed correctly without noticing.

I run qBittorrent minimized to tray and have disabled the dialog when adding torrents, so I don't have to click through it for each torrent.
Therefore there is no visual feedback that a torrent was added, unless the notifications are enabled.

I suggest adding an option for each type of notification. With that it might as well be moved from advanced options to behaviour for better discoverability.
