Columns of transfer list were set to default after updating to 4.6.0 #19753

qBittorrent & operating system versions

qBittorrent: v4.6.0 x64
Windows 10 Pro 20H2 x64

What is the problem?

After updating to v4.6.0, all the columns of the transfer list were set to default. Meaning my personalized view was erased.
The selected columns, order and width were changed, my guess, to default settings.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Have a version previous to v4.6.0, change the columns order, size and which to show on the transfer list.
  2. Update to v4.6.0
  3. Check that the columns are changed to default.

You previously had a Qt5-based version installed, after installing Qt6-based version 4.6.0, all GUI settings will become default.

I don't think that is the case. I am certain I had v4.5.5 before updating to v4.6.0, as I always keep qBittorrent up to date.
Upon reading the update logs here I don't see an exact reference on which version did it update form Qt5-base to Qt6-base.

From what I've read, Qt6-base offers more GUI settings and overall visibility tweaks, I've noticed this update several months ago. This way, it's hard for me to believe it was updated from Qt5 to Qt6 just now...

OK, after some digging I believe @stalkerok is right.

I checked the old versions download page and see that every previous version has a qBittorrent Windows x64 and qBittorrent Windows x64 (qt6) link of download, which doesn't happen with the current version v.4.6.0, hence it being already Qt6-based.

Therefore, I never actually downloaded the Qt6-based version, I always went for the top one saying qBittorrent Windows x64.

After all, I haven't noticed any particular UI changes after this update, that was the reason I thought I already had a Qt6-based version.

Will close the issue.

Thanks @stalkerok for the heads up!
