''Downloading metadata stuck" #5006
Comments
What is your version? |
This is a problem with libtorrent that I am waiting a proper fix from that author.
After a few seconds you'll start connecting to DHT nodes and magnet links start working again. YOU HAVE TO DO THIS EVERY TIME YOU START QBT. I'll update qbt as soon as libtorrent fixes this. |
What port do you recommend? And thanks for the answer, I was frustrated because I didn't know what was happening. |
The first change forces libtorrent to try again to open the new port. While the 2nd one makes it possible to open the original port. |
I did what you said. I had 10625 (first port) then I put one random and click apply, then I switch back to 10625 and click ok. Nothing happens (after like 15 minutes) :( |
Copy your log here AFTER you do the procedure. Be sure to delete any sensitive info like torrent names/hashes. |
But first change to English language in the settings. |
|
It should work from the begining actually. You don't have a failed UDP port listening. Are you sure you have forwarded the port from your router (or you have enabled upnp from the settings?). |
I have 6881:6889 port range forwarded (or I think so...). (But in the past I didnt have any port forwarded and it worked fine). Also, I was testing with other torrent clients and It still happens, what else could be the problem? (And thank you for the help, I have like half day on this and still doesn't work) |
Then choose those ports. |
I really don't know if they support IPV6, my router does. Also I switched to 6881 and still nothing :S |
update: They don't support it. I just did the test on http://test-ipv6.com |
Try going in the advanced settings and specify your network interface... |
Still Nothing. I don't get it, why is this bothering now :S |
Could it be your firewall? |
But it doesn't affect just that pc, it affects 3 and my mac. could it be still? |
Then I assume it is a networking issue on your part. I cannot help you more. You could try our forums for networking troubleshooting. |
Well no problem, thank you any way I appreciate all the help. |
Have the same issue. Changing listening port doesn't resolve it. Even if I restart qbittorrent the torrent is still stuck on downloading metadata. |

I have had this same issue for probably over a year. I am not sure what information I could provide to you that may be helpful. If you let me know what to send you I would be more than happy to. My current solution is a small service application I wrote to restart qbittorent every 30 mins or so. Very lame. |
Seriously? It's been 4 years and there still is not a patch for this. Come on. |
@oonqt This issue is so old that whatever the original OP was experiencing was most likely fixed, and yours is likely due to something different. If you still experience this issue in the latest version, open a new issue report, provide detailed steps to reproduce, logs & settings in plain text, and system configuration details, such as whether or not you're using proxy/VPN and such. |
Hello, I was trying to download a torrent and it appears that something is wrong. It keeps on 'downloading metadata' forever.
I have done the following tests:
-Tried on 3 PC (Also 1 Mac)
-Re-installing the software
-Other torrent files (Also .torrent without the magnet)
I hope I can fix this,
Thanks
