qBittorrent & operating system versions

qBittorrent: 4.6.4 x64
Operating system: Windows 10 Home 22H2
Qt: 6.4.3
libtorrent-rasterbar: 1.2.19.0

What is the problem?

The data rate units in qBittorrent don't seem right.

The rates are reported as KiB/s and MiB/s, etc. These rates represent kibibyte/sec and mebibyte/sec respectively.

Are the units in qBittorrent in kibibyte/s or kilobyte/s? The way the units are shown in qBittorrent would suggest they are in kibibyte/s and this doesn't seem right. Here's an example.

KiB speeds

Note how the units appear in this Wikipedia article on data-rate units

Wikipedia article on data-rate units

The "i" in the units (KiB/s) suggests kibibyte/s. Without the "i" (KB/s) would be kilobyte/s There's more on the subject here, but it seems like the symbols don't match the rates.

It's an FYI as I've always never been totally clear on what the rate actually is based on the units in the app. Would be great if this could be fixed!

Also, There's no option in the client to change the unit of speed.

Most (if not all) applications use KB but they actually mean KiB. qBt says KiB and means it.

Bandwidth and data transfer rate should be measured in Bits per second not Byte!
