User interface freezing with torrents containing a lot of files/dirs #24
Comments
Could you please confirm that both qBittorrent and libtorrent are built in release mode? |
Does the problem still occur if the lower (properties) panel is hidden? |
I'm using the version 3.0.0 (final) under Windows 7 installed from the setup, so yes, it's a release. It's only freeze when the panel "Content" is shown, my torrent contains 1800 folder in the root, I guess it's a bit too much ;) |
In my case I have 3.0 with Win 7 64 bit and only 3-4 torrents and I consistently see the freezing issue. |
Performance improvement to address issue #24.

@Ummon could you post the torrent or link to it? I want to benchmark this and maybe fix it. |
Contact me on this email, I will send you a link to the torrent: greg.burri@gmail.com |
My machine amd ahtlon x2 4200+(dal core) Windows XP sp2 32bit.
You could try it yourself. Here is the latest build I offer on the forum: http://qbforums.shiki.hu/index.php?topic=1747.msg5861#msg5861 |
I consider this fixed. |
Mine freezes forever. v3.2Alpha |
I just created a torrent containing 19'000 files in 8'000 folders. When I click on it to select the torrent in the queue in qBittorrent it takes ~5 seconds. I think it's a bit too much for a good user experience.
My config isn't that bad (i7 860 with 6 GB RAM) so I guess it may be slower than that on a "regular" computer.
