Update. The crash has happened twice again since I posted. I think I have tracked down the offending action. I am creating new layers into GeoServer. Then in QGIS I refresh the WMS connection to see the new layers. That is when it crashed. I have tried it twice and crashed both times, creating totally new layers each time. After the crash, I reopen QGIS and the new layers are accessible in the WMS connection.

Closing for lack of feedback and as is not replicable. Reopen if necessary.
