How to manage author template, default author and custom authors posts? #8860
-
DescriptionHi, # Default author
author:
- name: Andrea Borruso
url: https://twitter.com/aborruso
affiliations:
- name: Associazione onData
url: https://ondata.it Sometime I need to add another author in a blog post, and I edit the front matter:
I have these outputs:
The blog list is based on it: title: "Blog"
listing:
contents:
- posts
sort: "date desc"
type: default
categories: true
sort-ui: false
filter-ui: false
feed: true
page-layout: full
title-block-banner: true Is it a bug, or is there any way not to have the duplicate in the blog view? Thank you |

I think what is happening is that our author normalization during document rendering is removing the duplicate author ('Andrea Borruso' is listed in both the _metadata.yml file and the document front matter). Our listing feature reads the author without normalization (using merged front matter before normalization) so it isn't getting the benefit of the de-duplication. I'd recommend that you remove the duplicate entry from the document front matter, unless there is a reason that it must be present. |

Our next preview release should address this but not displaying duplicate authors:
