When trying to build packages that depend on netcdf4, such as RNetCDF and ncdf4, installation fails on r-hub Windows servers due to missing hdf5 libraries. Would it be possible to install the hdf5 libraries for Windows? On win-builder and CRAN, the location of the hdf5 libraries is defined as ${LIB_HDF5}/lib${R_ARCH}. Can the environment variable LIB_HDF5 be defined on r-hub as well?

This problem has been solved by modifying RNetCDF to download pre-built netcdf4 packages from the rwinlib project. For details, please see mjwoods/RNetCDF#13 .
