Bug: Committing a missing (deleted) file restores (reverts) it rather than comitting the deletion #308

On Kubuntu 20.04, KDE Plasma 5.18.5, Dolphin 19.12.3.

If I delete a file then 'commit,' the 'changed files' portion of the commit window shows the file as missing (this is correct). However, if I proceed with the commit, the source file is restored, and the commit operation has no changes. This is obviously an error - the commit should commit the deletion, not revert the change & commit nothing.

Is there any updates to this? I still experience the same issue with this very basic functionality. I'm using Ubuntu server 21.04 with Cinnamon desktop and Nautilus integration.

The Issue with this basic functionality is still not fixed. Tested on Fedora Workstation 36.

Since the bug is still open, what made you think it was fixed to begin with? Unless you have new information to add, like how to fix it, there's no reason to add additional comments.

I would have thought that deleting files and committing the delete would be core functionality that if it did not work it would be considered "broken".
As this was raised in July 2020 and there is still no solution I am bumping this issue to see if it can gain some traction.
I cannot believe RabbitVCS is used extensively and this has not been overreported as this seems like a necessary feature to manage repos.
