StaffScratch

The directory ~/jupyter/StaffScratch is mounted in JupyterHub for staff Jupyter and rspmpi servers.

StaffScratch is on a RAID1 disk, but it is not backed up. Therefore, it is unlikely that you will lose data due to a hardware failure, but once you delete a file, it's gone forever.

To enable collaboration, StaffScratch is readable and writable by all staff. You can use it to share data easily with other staff.

To reduce chaos, please create a directory in StaffScratch that matches your GitHub handle in all lower case (JupyterHub convention). For example, my directory is ~/jupyter/StaffScratch/robnagler.

There are no storage quotas so please don't use too much space. You can check usage on the jupyter-status page.

Prometheus data

/hub/metrics and /user/<user>/metrics report useful metrics.
