Unfortunately I couldn't delete my commits.
Here is a reworked pull request.
Do I need to edit a MAKE file so that the source code is compiled at the kernel compilation?

This looks correct to me - are you saying this works for you now?

Reading it again I see that the comments refer to spi0.0 where they should say spi0.1. And it needs an addition to the Makefile and an entry in the README file.

Would you be happy for me to patch it up and submit it myself, leaving your name in the file and commit message?

I don't know which Make file I should edit and what I have to change.
Could you do that or is that impossible?
Yes that would be ok.

I've pushed your patch to rpi-4.0.y and rpi-4.1.y. Thank you for your efforts.

commit e1a534f upstream.

When CONFIG_CPUMASK_OFFSTACK and CONFIG_DEBUG_PER_CPU_MAPS is selected,
cpu_max_bits_warn() generates a runtime warning similar as below while
we show /proc/cpuinfo. Fix this by using nr_cpu_ids (the runtime limit)
instead of NR_CPUS to iterate CPUs.

When CONFIG_CPUMASK_OFFSTACK and CONFIG_DEBUG_PER_CPU_MAPS is selected,
cpu_max_bits_warn() generates a runtime warning similar as below while
we show /proc/cpuinfo. Fix this by using nr_cpu_ids (the runtime limit)
instead of NR_CPUS to iterate CPUs.
