[train] propagate metadata from all trainers

Why are these changes needed?

Follow-up to #38288. Making sure this is exposed in the public Trainer APIs and properly passed to BaseTrainer.__init__.

Also removing <>Trainer.preprocessor from the API references since it's deprecated.
