to test VIMAGE, VIMAGE-enabled kernel is required, which requires new vagrant box. VIMAGE is known to cause panics as mentioned in the URL. I am reluctant to enable VIMAGE in the default FreeBSD box.

remove the milestone.

the only option is, creating a ansible-freebsd-amd64-vimage. to enable VIMAGE, you need to:

  • retrive src.txz
  • create VIMAGE kernel config
  • make buildkernel installkernel KERNCONF=VIMAGE

in bootstrap script in packer-template.
