Same issue, not managing to install any realm versions with yarn and/or npm.
macOS 10.13.6 - Node 10.7.0 - NPM 6.2.0 - Yarn 1.7.0

Resolved the issue by downgrading to Node 8.11.3 but would be nice to upgrade again.

Try downgrading your Node.js version - Node.js 10 is known not to work at the moment.
