From G-Sun:

I'm experiencing many crashes with he following.

  • Using Garritan Aria Player
  • Adding a many cc-events in one lane (mod wheel)
  • Double-click my custom action:
-- Open all track midi in last focused Midi Editor (clear editor)
-- SWS: Show only used CC lanes

v4.02
XP Sp3, 32bit

Seems like I don't get the crashes when hitting Enter (Open all track
midi in last focused Midi Editor (preserve),
so maybe the SWS-action is not handling all the info. http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=86959

Hey G-Sun, neither tim nor I can reproduce this. Is the VST on the item or track? Does it happen when you reaper is playing, recording or stopeed? What does the selected item have in it? Is it just notes and CC #1 events?

Any more info can help us resolve this. Thanks.

Asked G-Sun to answer here rather than on the reaper forum.

The tracks in question are midi-only, just routing to vsti.

Steps I do:

  • Having prerecorded midi-notes
  • Adding mod-wheel to the item (quite many, cpu near 100%)
  • Stopping, double-clicking item > custom action
I'd say this gives me crash 50-100% of the times.

If, I don't go directly the path above, but opens the item in another way, then double-clicking item later, it seems like I don't get the crashes.

rpp: http://g-sun.no/Upload/Jabb3/LGO/A%20lot%20going%20on.RPP with typical content.
But, adding channel-pressure is usually done after mod-wheel.

Thanks!

Hmmm... I still can't reproduce it. I don't have a MIDI keyboard as I am travelling for the next few months so I can't follow your steps exactly.

Tim, can you reproduce with the above project?

Tested with a clean project,
inserted 1 track

added cc1
Double-click and.. crash

New test.

As last time but taking the actions in two steps:
-- Open all track midi in last focused Midi Editor (clear editor)
Working fine, midi opens, all cc displayed
-- SWS: Show only used CC lanes
Crash

Note: Rec-mode: Overdub in existing item

Attached: rpp-file, before
-- SWS: Show only used CC lanes

Attachment: test.RPP

Thanks, I can repro now. Fingers, take a look at r547 to verify I'm not an idiot.

G-Sun, fix will be in next release of SWS (2.1.0 #7), should be out in the next day or so.

Status: Fixed
