this patch is related to issue #480: "rear recover stopped by mdadm and udev"
I found rear is tried to maintain compatibility of RHEL4 which doesn't have "udevadm" command.
so the patch emulate the same behavior. but I don't have RHEL4 machines so I can not test it.

… issue #508; this was introduced by issue #480 and #490 (pull request)

I believe the fix is not yet final as on fedora21 beta it still exits with an error code 2 (not sure why as I cannot see anything wrong)
