Colormapping probability volumes

This is interesting: U-Net deep learning colourisation of greyscale images.

If there were meshes of the cells then could use inside-outside of mesh as training for a classifier. Then have that classifier infer a probability volume, then colorize each voxel by its probability value.

More generally this could be used for any probability volume generating method (rather than say a binary).
It's U-Net acting as a pre-processor for input to a colormap.
