Virtua Tennis black squares

I've noticed in Virtua Tennis that there is some issue with layering or transparency. Replays are a black square, and whilst playing world tour, the dialog boxes containing instructions for each match appear briefly beffore dissapearing under a black square (and only "accept" button remains visible".

I noticed in Virtua Tennis 2 there is the same issue with the main title screen.

How can I further help identify the problem and solve it? Thanks!

BTW, have the same issue with current beta for android (as of 25-02-2019), libretro core version and stable version on android, all updated.

Devices showing this error are Nvidia shield tv, galaxy tab s3 10.1 and raspberry pi3. Seems to be related to code rather than hardware compatibility.

I tried the libretro core version as well as my branch but I don't see any major issue.
What platform are you on (OS/CPU/GPU)? Which emulator/core settings are you using?

Thanks, I already tried those. I believe since you can't replicate the issue, I might have a somewhat bad game image, so I'll try a different one for good measure. Thanks!!!!

Tried with a different rom with no luck. Steps to reproduce: open world tournament for the first time, the invitation displays for a second and then disappears. Black screen with "accept invitation" text is all that remains then.

I followed the above steps on my branch, both with per-triangle and per-pixel sorting and I see no issue.

It might be related to your GPU and the branch/version you're using. The master branch is probably missing some features to render this game properly.
