help! it says 'not a valid directory' and I don't know why #220
Comments
Does it exist on your disk? Is that where you installed the game? |
wow that was quick - yeah, it's on my disk in my downloads folder. |
Try a different empty directory. See what you get. |
That is the latest version which is correct. I'm not sure what is the cause of this issue, sorry. |
Try to manually download the game and extract it somewhere. Than start the launcher and point to that directory. |
Hi, I'm not entirely sure if that 'not a valid directory' is anything to do with the 'could not find remote builds' message that has started popping up within the last hour. I don't think they are related, but it's just a thought. On another note, I always got the 'not a valid directory' message whenever I would try to install the game via the launcher for the first time. However, (I think) I just moved the launcher file out of the directory and then back again, and everything started working fine... |
Hmmm, not sure which version of the game you'll actually have installed there because, as I said, the updater seems to have been playing up for a couple of hours now. I was lucky and updated this morning (UK time) so I'm good to go, for now... ;) |
When the launcher show it cannot find remote builds, it's because it cannot list the available builds on the server where they put the game binaries that are built. This is often an issue that is unrelated to the launcher caused by issues with the game build breaking or something else. |
Okay remyroy. It's working fine again now anyway... ;) |
Seems like the game devs did change some stuff related to the game builds server. All the details are in #221. The latest 1.3.13 release should fix this if there are more related issues. |
