If I set the game to start up in fullscreen, the game starts but all I see is a black screen. The first time I had to reboot since the mac was not responding. The second time I heard the game music, so I could press "F" to switch to windowed.
If I go back to fullscreen from windowed, it works. But if I set it to start fullscreen again, the same problem shows up.
In previous version of Ren'Py it was working fine (I just tested it).

In progress.

If in progress means "Waiting for Amazon to deliver a Mountain Lion capable Mac Mini."

Was wondering if there's any update on this bug? I looked around and perhaps this is related to the problem:

Thanks :)

That's good to hear. I'll probably use 10.6 as the new base sdk, if I can
find a copy of it.

Cool :) having to build Win+Linux with 6.14 and Mac with 6.13 is not fun 👯 (not your fault of course)

By the way - I am on 10.8.2 but for one game I get an attempt to launch fullscreen and then it closes and freezes - I have to force quit the app. Game was from a year ago, but the weird thing is an earlier version from a year earlier works fine (game was Katawa Shoujo)

I downloaded the latest Lemma's Tales (10th anniversary) VN and it plays fine. Was it built with 6.14? But, it opens in windowed mode. Also, I can't seem to catch the other game and switch to windowed mode as is described in the first post - no music or anything...just a momentary switch to full screen and then crash/boom

Is there a way to find out which file sets the preference for launching in full screen? I could reset it manually if nothing else, as I can see no other way to get this to work now

You can create the file environment.txt including the contents:

RENPY_DISABLE_FULLSCREEN="yes"

in the directory containing .py

That will prevent Ren'Py from starting up in fullscreen, at least.

I will give this a try - in the resources folder, right?

I think it's one underneath that, the autorun folder.

Thanks so much - that did it. For now, windowed is fine...

I believe the underlying problem will be fixed in 6.15, which is linked against newer libraries.
