There is some support from Macquarie (Falster), UTS (Sefton), and Sydney Uni (Holcombe) planners to have it at Sydney Uni

Firm workshop/seminar plans

  • At least two, likely three levels of R instruction including elements of data management and reproducibility

    • a 1- or 2-day R bootcamp (RStudio only, no shell scripting or version control) taught by Dan Warren (not yet committed).
    • standard R Software Carpentry 2-day bootcamp, taught by Fabian Held and Westa Domenova
    • intermediate R users Software Carpentry, taught by Daniel Falster and Josh Madan of Macquarie Uni

  • Excel Fu (Microsoft Excel for Researchers)

    • 1-day workshop on day 1
    • 1-day workshop on day 2

  • 3-hour Regular expressions text-mining tutorial, provided by Intersect NSW (Day 3?)

  • Something growing out of Cumberland's November Research Bazaar

  • Library drop-in events 3 Feb in new space - data visualisation, GIS, data plans, Lab Archives demo, using social media, alternate research outputs??
