We want to evaluate the advantages of changing the current file system scheme.

Current file system scheme → one directory per file type:

logos for logo images
cover for cover images
picture for profile images
...

Proposed scheme:

every group related file in its own directory inside a group id directory
profile pictures in its own directory

If we decide to change the file system organization, we are probably using filefield_path module. Read also here.
