Some shells are made differently
Based on the quality of shell, aftermarket, or AliExpress shop, some shells have a slight variance for the trim pot thumbwheels (both Volume and Brightness).
Best thing to do is try not to force squeez the shell closed. It's easier to mod.
For both wheels, just cut straight down with a utility blade on the bottom half shell only.
Clean it up with a file.
