Application

YouTube v18.25.39

Issue

When using "Spoof app version" patch, an "Update YouTube?" popup starts to come continuesly.

I'm using 18.25.39 version and spoofing my app version into 18.20.39 triggers the "update YouTube?" popup.

Patch

If we can get a patch to hide the "update YouTube?" popup, it will be really helpful. Watching the popup in every home feed refresh and every time opening YouTube is annoying.

Spoofing app version is important because 18.20.39 has old-style player flyout panel. But the downside is the "update YouTube?" popup. Hope there will be a patch or an alternative way to fix it.

Motivation

Without the option to hide "update YouTube?" popup, the "spoof app version" patch becomes useless.

Because I can't spoof my app version if I have to face the annoying popup in every refresh and every time I open YouTube app. To make the spoof app version feature fully convenient, hiding the "update YouTube?" popup is really important.

That being said, spoof app version is really one of the best features, no doubt about that. But it needs the "hide 'update YouTube?' popup" patch to be a properly working patch.

You must be using a fork of ReVanced (or you are patching an unsupported version) because the highest supported YouTube target is 18.23.35.

And ReVanced supports patching 18.20.39, so no need to spoof to it.

Even if I use the 18.23.35 version, the popup will occur too when using the "spoof app version" patch! I am just trying to address the annoying popup issue.

Try patching 18.20.39 and don't spoof

That's a good point! But suppose in the future, when I'm using a later updated version and trying to spoof to an older version, this popup will occur again. So I was hoping that hiding the popup will be considered as an option.

If YouTube is prompting users to update, then it's possible the version spoofing may be going away (version spoofing is built into YouTube as a non public feature). Or maybe YouTube is about to axe support for older app versions (and then there's no point hiding the update screen, when version spoofing no longer works).

Can wait and see what happens, and reopen this request later if needed.

For now keep patching 18.20.39.
