Bug description

This app has really gone down hill, there's no longer a reliable updated form of Micro G which is essential for this to work for non-rooted users, and now, atop all that, the ReVaned App itself now when patched with the latest stuff crashes randomly after freezing and becoming unresponsive after you start playing videos, I have had to uninstall and give up on the project until this is addressed, I even had to get YouTube Premium which severely downgrades my experience. Someone needs to investigate this deep and find out why the app is no longer stable like when I first got it a few months ago, I thought it was Micro G but unfortunately nothing I know how to try works, I am not code literate or capable of anything, I don't even know how to use logs to try to capture detailed data about app crashes, someone has to either walk me through that or test it themselves

Steps to reproduce

1 Open ReVanced
2 start playing any video
3 watch in awe as randomly it'll suddenly keep playing in the background but the app has frozen to the point the entire phone lags and you can't close it or stop video playback unless an error message saying ReVanced has stopped working and offers to force close the process appears.

Relevant log output

N/A I don't have logs nor know how to use them

Is this a request for help, or testimony of why you stopped using ReVanced?

If this issue is a request for help, then the debug logs are needed. Without that it's nearly impossible to figure out why you're experiencing random crashes.

I want help but, I don't even know how to find any possible logs for what happened
and I uninstalled ReVanced so I'd have to reinstall it and be given instructions on how to capture log data if there is any to assist in the analysis

I don't know how to do any of this, I am a very unskilled user who had to follow the reddit guide for dummies to use, and lost my cool when it stopped working, to address this, I'd need to reinstall ReVanced and be given instructions on how to capture logs when I try using it again, it seems I am the first to report this issue, so, how do I get logs and then upload them here?

When you reinstall, be sure to patch using only the default patches (there's a button in Manager to pick the default).
After installing, go to Settings -> ReVanced -> Misc -> Debug, and turn on debugging

After ReVanced crashes, to collect the debug logs you'll need a computer:

If you have no idea how to get around using command line, then you'll need to do one of the following:

  • search online and find some basic guides how to do basic stuff in command prompt
  • get in person help from someone who is familiar
  • give up and use regular YouTube (and maybe later someone else will identify the bug and fix the problem)

If you can reproduce the problem and collect the debug logs, then reopen this issue with the required logs.
