Jar and and Jar inside Zip is not expendable (in Package Explorer) #13
Comments
I'm experiencing the same issue, also on Windows with Luna SR1 and a 64-bit Java 7 installation. |
Sorry for the delay, I had accidentially turned off watching the issues list. From what I understand there are two separate issues:

As for me, I'm only concerned with the second part - nested archives is not (yet) an issue for me. For the other problem, I've identified one issue: It works in the Project Explorer view, but not in the Package Explorer view. Would it be possible to enable the function for the Package Explorer as well? |
@vwegert I am afraid, In short the answer is NO. This is a real predicament, the Project Explorer is extensible and thus the Archive Utility can contribute extensions that handle archive content types. Whereas the Package Explorer is not meant to be extended, it is not even API. You may file an enhancement request against JDT to change that situation, but given the few development resources working on JDT, the chances are low that it will become reality. The Project Explorer was meant to replace the Package Explorer and other language specific project views on the long run. Unfortunately it never made it there, development stalled before it had the necessary features to become a decent replacement were in place. The little progress that there is left is probably best captured in this bug and its dependant bugs. The only curent workaround is the one already mentioned on the project homepage: press |
