This release includes a miniature base generator that can generate Round, Oval, Rectangular, Rounded Rectangular and Polygonal (e.g. Hex) bases. There are a couple of gotchas as the bases are sized in cm rather than inches like the tiles. Check out the docs for more info.

This release updates MakeTile for 2.93, adds the first set of wall on floor type tiles to straight walls and curved walls and implements the redo panel for the tile operators.

The docs have been reworked at https://maketile.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ to reflect the changes made over the last few months.

This is the first version of MakeTile intended for use with the MakeTile asset manager that is bundled with the paid version of MakeTile purchasable from here https://gumroad.com/l/LaLVb

Instructions on how to install the latest version of the add on and an overview of the new features are here

As always please let me know if you find any bugs. As this is a big release I expect there to be (even) more than usual. I'll be updating the documentation over the next few days and will then be turning my attention back towards the tile generators and the first set of roofs.

This hotfix fixes a bug in the object converter and with the material reference object not being added correctly. It also introduces a change in the way the Display Settings dropdown works which should really be in the next alpha release but which I'm releasing here because I forgot to push my bugfix branch to github before going away for the holidays and its just easier if I release the current snapshot of master than going back through the last twenty days worth of commits.

Display Settings Changes

When you change between Cycles, Eevee or Solid view using the Render Engine drop down in the Display Settings submenu MakeTile will now automatically adjust the level of subdivisions on MakeTile displacement objects (objects that you can Make3D) to the most appropriate level for that object and render engine to improve performance.

If an object has been Made3D then nothing will happen when you switch render modes. If an object is in preview mode then if you switch to Eevee or the Solid renderer, then MakeTile will turn off the subdivision modifier as it isn't needed in these modes. If you switch to Cycles mode then MakeTile will switch the modifier back on so you can preview a material in 3D.

This only works if you use the Render Engine drop down in the MakeTile menu, not if you switch modes in the normal fashion.

This is purely a bug fix release to handle some of the more egregious bugs in the initial Blender 2.91 release. This version won't work on 2.90 and shouldn't work on any release after 2.91 because it includes a variety of hacks to deal with the rotation operator being broken in 2.91.

2.91 has a huge bug in it that causes rotations to be inverted when they are triggered by a script or if you enter a numeric value to get a precise rotation. As such several of MakeTile's tile generators are pretty much broken and I've had to temporarily invert a bunch of rotations, which once the Blender bug is fixed, I'll have to invert again. Fun!
