Connecting the roaster crashes the Mac

Hi there!

This is a bit tricky because I'm trying to help a (non-technical) friend who is eager to use your app to roast some beans, and we are physically hundreds of miles apart.

She is using a Mac running Sierra 10.12.3. She downloaded your .dmg file, version 1.0.1, and installed it. She did not download the Mac_driver, as it wasn't clear whether she needed it. (The release notes don't mention Sierra.)

She ran the app, and everything looked good. She connected it to her roaster, and the Mac crashed. She's tried it twice and her Mac crashed both times. Here is what she sees and some info she provided:

I suggest that she try installing v1.2.0a7, which we released yesterday. Instructions are relatively clear and it worked for me on a Yosemite and a Sierra machine.
