how do pass Kafka connect username and password to agent

I guess you mean SASL authentication credentials, not Kafka Connect? :)
We added support for SSL, and the configuration is documented here: https://faust.readthedocs.io/en/latest/userguide/settings.html#ssl-context

SASL is not supported yet, but should not be difficult to add now that aiokafka added support for SASL Plain.
