Reproducer

With Ubuntu 22.04 binary release:

root-config --git-revision
head: invalid option -- 'm'
Try 'head --help' for more information.
tail: option requires an argument -- 'n'
Try 'tail --help' for more information.

-n and -m seem wrong with tail and head, at least with Ubuntu

Yikes no idea how that slipped through. Windows uses a different script. PR coming up; thanks for reporting!
