Hi @karthik @cboettig I was about to make my own package when I found this. This is clearly WIP and various basic things need filling in. I can do this pretty quickly based on at least one API package that I have written (https://github.com/jefferis/rcatmaid), but I just wanted to check if you have any unpushed work. Thanks, Greg.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the note. I've just resumed work on this package last month and have a roadmap for the summer to finish v1 and get it to CRAN. It's fairly straightforward but I have some other grant/writing commitments to finish before I return to it. The challenging bit for me is time, not the API itself. But I'd like to carefully implement the R API since the set up on Zenodo doesn't map that simply.

Contributions are definitely welcome as PRs to this repo. I can drop in a contributions guidelines shortly, but I was planning to do that after I finished ver 1.

OK – the first thing I've done is add

• zen_pat() to get a pat
• zen_fetch(path, body=NULL, ...) to GET or POST (if body!=NULL) and factor authentication issues out of main user facing functions.

FYI, I had punted on the authentication bit till the very end as early adopters can just grab their token from their accounts for now. There a couple of fixes on the zenodo api side that will make this process much simpler before it goes to CRAN.
