Import libpyside2-dev for Yakkety and Zesty #5
Comments
Imported: http://build.ros.org:8080/job/import_upstream/106/console and the jobs appear to be building. |
Only the Yakkety job has passed. The Zesty one is still failing since it can't install the dependencies. It looks to me that older package versions were imported for Zesty (2017-01-.. instead of the newest available ones 2017-02-..). @tfoote Can you please continue on this to make the Zesty job pass too. |
I imported what's in the PPA, it was the same import using the same rules as yekkety. ros-infrastructure/reprepro-updater@1f31541 A quick browse finds that the latest builds from February are not for zesty. http://ppa.launchpad.net/thopiekar/pyside-git/ubuntu/pool/main/p/pyside2/
I don't think there's more I can do. You might want to contact upstream. |
Why are the imported packages (even if they are a month older) not installable at the moment? |
Presumably there's a missing or mismatched dependency.
|
I looks like |
Upstream suspects that it is related to the current Zesty builds failing, see https://launchpad.net/~thopiekar/+archive/ubuntu/pyside-git/+build/12048891 |
@dirk-thomas : @dhood pointed out that pyside2 has built successfully for zesty (all architectures but armhf that we don't target). So we could import the new versions for yakkety and zesty and add it back to the rosdep keys (revert ros/rosdistro#14180). How would you like to test this ? Would you prefer to try this after Yakkety is turned off on the buildfarm? |
I don't know when I will have time for this. Anybody could give it a try.
It would make sense to do it before since otherwise Yakkety will never have that support. But that require that someone has the time to do it before the farm is disabled. |
The current Debian packages as well as a from source build on Xenial lets |
For Zesty the packages seem to build now and they are also available for Artful. I would suggest to pull those in and list them in rosdep again. @tfoote Since this repo doesn't specify what was pulled in before which I could make a PR for can you please import those. |
Yeah I checked that earlier today as well, seems that they still fail on armhf as well as failing for all platforms on Xenial and Yakkety. |
The imports are more up to date in the reprepro-updater repo here: https://github.com/ros-infrastructure/reprepro-updater/blob/master/config/pyside2.prerelease.lunar.yaml Do we just want to extend this to artful? |
Yes, it would be good to import the packages for |
Is it ok to pull in newer yakkety and zesty too?
|
I think that we should avoid yakkety. Zesty should be fine given that we don;t use the armhf version (the only one failing to build https://launchpad.net/~thopiekar/+archive/ubuntu/pyside-git/+sourcepub/8207842/+listing-archive-extra) |
@tfoote Any update on this? |
@dirk-thomas @dhood Looks like the newly imported packages are not found properly on Zesty making the build fail: |
I couldn't find the existing import rule for the packages. @tfoote can you please import the packages for the newly targeted platforms of ROS Lunar as well as create a file for the already imported packages.
This should fix the following jobs:
