As a note for future fixation.

bag_timeline.py.zoom_in calls a method in TimelieFrame class that probably represents a single slot on timeline. This means the reported behavior is designed to be so.

This is correct. As with the previous bag viewer the zoom was localized on the current playhead instead of the current mouse location. I completely agree with pablo that zooming at the cursor is better for the user.
