^Of cource the LDAP bind user have to have write permissions.^[please find some code example from [http://bah.org.ru/ldapmgr/ Andrew Dolgov]([BR]]

Right, LDAP is read-only. Can anybody who has write-access to an LDAP directory implement the missing methods in rcube_ldap.inc? I don't have the required environment for testing :-(

It'll be nice if it could even be implemented such that it works from the ldap server from http://freeldap.org. You can get a free ldap account there where you have write access to your tree under your user name (something like uid=abc, ou=people,o=entic.net).

This is old, we've got writeable LDAP in Roundcube now.
