Roundcube GUI Request #9448
Comments
This is an open source project, which is free to use and also open for contributions. If you feel that its development is going the wrong way, please spend time and help constructively. |
I am not a programmer. I am, however, a strong advocate for OS utilization, in schools, colleges, and business. I do my part, although it is not as powerful as yours. I hope you aren't suggesting that end-user feedback isn't constructive. I am very confused by the change in GUI, I don't like it because it makes my work harder. It would not have been a large task to leave us non-programmers the option of using Larry. |
Please reconsider my original request. I have just realized that I cannot easily scan, nor sort, for larger emails+attachments to delete, in order to quickly free up storage space. Please, give us the option of using Larry? It was so much more helpful. |
You can still install "larry" in your instance, it is maintained standalone: https://github.com/roundcube/larry |
Thank you. Hope I can figure this out.

First rule of programming: NEVER CHANGE THE GUI.
You can expand it, but protect the layout, feel, shortcuts, etc. If you decide to change the GUI, always give users the option of sticking with the one with which they are familiar. It is not a large programming task.
Larry was much better than Elastic, because I could quickly scan the senders, identify important emails, and delete unimportant ones.
That functionality is gone and I am left with a really cumbersome, time-consuming GUI. I can't see the important stuff for all the minor stuff.
Just give us Larry back, and no one gets hurt.
Particularly not me.
Thanks.
