HOWTO borrow electricity

You might easily end up in a situation in which you don't have access to a wall plug to deploy your favorite mesh networking device..

What can you do in that situation?

A standard light bulb socket could be a viable alternative!

List of materials:

• An LED light bulb with E27 socket
• A 220V to USB wall plug
• Electric wire

List of tools:

• Soldering Iron

Optional:

• A Belcrete finishing would greatly improve the safety of the device, and would also add a softening effect that makes it a great reading light.

Break the lamp open and access the circuit board of the led driver.

break open the USB wall plug.

Find the connection points of the screwing part and of the central point.

Solder the two connection points to the 220v points inthe wall plug

Glue the contraption back together
