Maintainers wanted #120
Comments
The last activity on zh_cn was also end of 2011 and the original maintainer weren't active since then. I will work a bit on it but due to the reason that I'm not native it will be a bit slow. I remember that there was a discussion about the announcement of the move to Git. Maybe we should collect all the languages whoch are un-maintained and request for help inside of the announcement too. |
i would like to be one of the Simplified Chinese maintainers. |
@AndorChen great! |
I would like to be one of he Simplified Chinese maintainers too, although english is my challenge still ... |
I'd like to be one of Simplified Chinese maintainers too, |
Hey, guys, I'm the guy behind the bulgarian version of the old Radiant based website. Congrats on the migration 👍 |
I may help with pt translations. |
I would like to become the es maintainer |
I'll help ja translations :) |
Hey, along with @dabit I'd could also help with spanish translations. |
Hola, yo puedo ayudar con las traducciones en español. (Hello, I can help with translations in spanish and italian). |
Still needing pt mantainers? |
Welcome to www.ruby-lang.org team ❤️ I added maintainer's grant to @fuadsaud @mytrile @dabit @vic @hagarelvikingo @hagarelvikingo @tkhr @fuadsaud @songjiayang @chenyukang . If you have a time, Please translate release announce of latest rubies. #136 🕛 @AndorChen I can't added you into maintainer team. it seems github's problem. I reported this. Please wait a little more. |
🎉 @hsbt are there any places u want me to translate?(since my job is to upgrade old contents, would help if u tell me some pages which are old) |
Welcome all! And please have a look at the Wiki before starting to commit. |
I'm in for italian! 🇮🇹 🇮🇹 🇮🇹 |
@gcapizzi me too, but you're a native speaker, it should be much easier for you. |
@hagarelvikingo we should be able to sort it out together 😉 |
I'd like to volunteer for pl_PL. |
i would like to help ja translations :) |
@hsbt, @postmodern, @chikamichi We do not have any review process, do we? Maybe we should have pull requests as a first stage before granting commit bits. |
I'd like to be the ja maintainer, too |
agree with @stomar 👍 Since most of the language will have more than 2 maintainers, review process sounds legit :) |
To all new contributors and maintainers you should read the Contributing Guidelines and it's worth noting this particular part of it: https://github.com/ruby/www.ruby-lang.org/wiki#corrections-on-translated-site |
@dabit thx! 👯 |
I confirmed contributor's profile before granting commit bit. but I agreed your idea such as offered to create pull request to contributor before granting commit bit. |
To all contributors (maintainers or not): A good place to start--besides the recent news posts--might be any issue marked with |
Hum, that was kind of a bold move granting all those commit rights without any "motivation checks", but well, let's try this way 👍 I guess, if by the end of next week, some of the new volunteers didn't actually show up, we could always refine the access list. The thing is, now https://github.com/ruby/www.ruby-lang.org/wiki/Team is outdated. First live test: @fuadsaud @mytrile @dabit @vic @hagarelvikingo @hagarelvikingo @tkhr @fuadsaud @songjiayang @chenyukang, could you append your credentials on this page? :) |
@chikamichi done! |
@chikamichi done for my job, but... what if I want to help in more than one language? |
@chikamichi done :) |
Just added myself too |
@hagarelvikingo i think u just need to say that u want to... :P according to https://github.com/ruby/www.ruby-lang.org/wiki/Become-a-maintainer
|
@chikamichi is this need to translated? |
Hmm, the pt translations are heavily based on Portugese from Portugal. It differs a lot from Brazilian Portuguese (which is the one I speak) :\ @badosu do you think we can figure it out? |
@chenyukang i think you should open a new issue/pr for that :D |
@chenyukang There are a couple of pages not translated in zh_cn. If you want to translate make sure to use the current en version as basis, since the version in zh_cn is outdated. |
I'll be glad to support @nono and @chikamichi on the french translation. |
@fuadsaud I am pt-br too |
@chikamichi I can't get started with translating till the next week, because I have lots of exams this week (still studying). |
I added commit bit for @crabonature (pl) , @gazay (ru) and @gozali (id). They are already contribute this repository via pull requests |
We got a lot of maintainers and volunteers. this issue closes once. |
@gazay @gozali @crabonature welcome! |
Suggestion, it might be easier to manage contributors by creating teams for each translation (ex: |
Thanks! 👍 |
Sweet @hsbt ❤️ Welcome @hagarelvikingo and welcome to all!! |
Many of the translations are lacking active maintainers:
