installation proceeds after tests fail #3

You had me scared there for just a moment. It turns out this is not a bug, just a minor printing error. On Windows machines, the extended symbol table test 62 is known to give unexpected results, hence this line: https://github.com/run4flat/Alien-TinyCCx/blob/master/t/40-tcc-exsymtab-test-suite.t#L72 That said, Alien::TinyCCx's test suite should do a better job masking that output. I'll fix that now, but will not prioritize pushing a new distribution. Hopefully I'll get to it later today or this weekend. |
Thanks for clarifying. So the "program stopped working correctly" error in t\30-tcc-suite.t is also expected? |
Well presumably if t\30 passes, then it must have been an expected failure, something listed somewhere in the ten or so lines starting around here: https://github.com/run4flat/Alien-TinyCCx/blob/master/t/30-tcc-test-suite.t#L16 But, if you're getting a "program stopped working correctly" error, it should probably skip that test altogether on Windows boxes. I haven't visited the test runs on Windows in a while, so I'll put that on my list. Reopening for now. |
Thanks again. Having the window appear sends alarm bells, so capturing, suppressing or avoiding it if it is expected would be handy. |
Interestingly enough, the build works without a hitch on Appveyor: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/run4flat/alien-tinyccx/build/1.0.35 |
I agree, those notification boxes are really disturbing for a test suite that later passes. :-) |
Possibly because AppVeyor is command line only so does not show the popup window? The same would apply to the cpan smokers I expect. |
Running under Windows 10.
t\30-tcc-suite.t gets up to test 50-62 (it varies, but 62 is the highest) before the Windows "program stopped working correctly" error appears. Once that window is closed it keeps going with the tests, as per the log.
The failure in t\40-tcc-exsymtab-test-suite.t is consistent.
Despite these failures, the process continues and installs Alien::TinyCCx into the system.
Full log is below.
Regards,
Shawn.
