"Use referenced job's nodes." option is missing while job referencing in Rundeck #7497
Comments
Sorry if I’m misunderstanding you, but this seems backwards. Referenced
jobs already have their nodes pre-defined, and you override the referenced
job’s nodes using the workflow step’s advanced options. This is how rundeck
works out of the box. Are you not seeing this behavior?

I am trying to reference some jobs in a job and goal was to run those jobs
on their specific nodes. But following option is not available in parent
job's work flow job reference step.
"Use referenced job's nodes. If the referenced job is from another
project, you can use referenced job node list instead of the parent's
nodes. "
I can see this option in Version 3.4.*
Any suggestions how can use this capability in my current version of
rundeck?

Hi Niall, I am not seeing this behaviour. all jobs started to use using nodes of parent job's project. But I want job to run on their respective nodes. |
Hi @aman35 If you need to use this feature specifically: Please upgrade to the latest version. Regards. |
Is there any other way? I have to run 4 jobs running on different nodes and from 4 different projects (which are running scripts and commands) from 5th project's single job. |
Can we run rundeck commands with ssh-key instead of password. |
as said moved the discussion to google groups. |
