Performance Issue

I am trying to use pySFeel library but facing some performance issues importing the library.

When using pysfeel==1.4.2 (latest) it takes 17-20seconds to just import in my application
When using pysfeel==1.3.10 it takes 4 seconds
When using pysfee==1.3.8 takes just 2 seconds

Can you please let us know the reason? Is it safe to use 1.3.8 with pydmnrules latest package?

Version 1.4.2 incorporates the additional range functions introduced in DMN version 1.4 Which involves lots of extra regular expression that now get compiled at load time. So load is slower, but execution should be faster. pySFeel was built as the SFeel interpreter for pyDMNrules. I did not expect anyone to use it on its own. After all, it's just another programming language, which you call from Python, which is actually a better programming language for almost anything you would consider doing in SFeel. If you use version 1.3.8 you will lose some functionality and it will be slower to execute. Is there a specific reason why you want/need to use pySFeel as a programming language? pyDMNrules is meant for situation where you need a rules engine, which will be used multiple times to make multiple decisions. Hence start up time is less critical than is execution time. Improving the start up time for pySFeel will improve the start up time for pyDMNrules, but will adversely affect the execution time every time a decision has to be made.
