the Web version of this book is pretty nice and readable
however, it's not available offline

would you consider providing an application manifest, so it can be added to a mobile phone's home screen?

an example where this is well done is https://hpbn.co/
with the help of Javascript service workers, the book is updated every time it's accessed from a working connection, and otherwise can be read offline

We'd need mdbook to support this before we can.

i have to admit: i have by now read the entire rust book
maybe i should also read the entire hpbn book and help fix upstream!

caveat: hpbn doesn't have a night-mode!

May 2020 it now possible the view the book offline with

rustup docs --book

I think that allows us to close this issue ...

which part of my message about "reading on mobile devices" got lost here? 🤔

hmmm, probably the part where i didn't mention them 😅

i do all my electronic book reading on mobile devices

while it's not impossible to install rust on my android phone, it's quite a high step

Cross reference to #218 which is also about publishing in several formats.

I think I'm going to close this, as we're not likely to do it.
