sudo yum install gmp-devel

otherwise ruby fails to install with an error about sizeof(long long) - which works fine but the configure scripts test of whether sizeof(long long) fails but it's because of the missing gmp shared so... might help to include this in the required list of packages to install upfront...

Which Amazon AMI release version is this for? We can add the dependency.
