Send a Gap message when a reader joins after many samples have been written to the writer. This is a typical scenario for example when have two running shapes demo and was missing functionality up to this point. During the implementation we noticed some low performance issues when receiving a lot of messages on the wire so the actor tasks were modified to be non-blocking.
