Hi,
I have a test that uses saucelabs, wd and loads firebug here: https://github.com/saadtazi/firefox-profile-js/blob/master/test/spec/extension.spec.js (runs on travis-ci)

Do you have something else in mind?

That test also set some user prefs using fp.setPreference()
